Food Scene. How a Plate Controls You
Our entire life consists of relationships. We invest many resources in work, loved ones, and self-development, but often forget the most basic relationship that lasts from the first to the last breath – the relationship with food.
It is precisely this relationship that determines how much energy we have, how we feel in our bodies, and what we spend our resources on: a full life or internal tension. Sometimes these relationships can be anxious.
How do anxious relationships with food manifest in life?
- Food becomes a way to cope with what is happening inside: when you want to calm anxiety, fatigue, or feel safe.
- Thoughts about food and controlling it take up more space than desired, tiring and distracting from life.
- Attempts to control eating are limited by restrictions or harsh workouts that only bring internal discomfort.
