The Son

Experience 'The Son' at the Sokhumi State Drama Theatre, directed by Merab Kolbaia. The play follows Nicolas, a teenager hurt by his parents’ separation. Listless and distant, Nicolas hopes that living with his father’s new family and changing schools will help him find peace. Instead, he faces more isolation and feels like an outsider. At a crossroads, he must decide where—and with whom—he truly belongs. Set design is by Nino Kutelia, original music and direction by Merab Kolbaia, with a Georgian-language adaptation by Nana Samchkuashvili and assistant director Leila Murgulia. The talented cast includes Ekaterine Archaia, Jano Izoria, Julieta Pakeliani, Marina Solomonia, and Nika Chkadua. The performance, supported by Tbilisi City Hall, is in Georgian, runs for 1 hour and 25 minutes, and is recommended for ages 14 and up.
