Georgia as a Christian State – 1700 Anniversary Concert

In 2026, Georgia commemorates the 1700th anniversary of adopting Christianity as the state religion, marking a pivotal moment in its cultural and political history. To honor this milestone, the project "Georgia as a Christian State – 1700" presents a series of classical music concerts. On July 21 at 8:00 PM, enjoy Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem performed by the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre Chorus and Orchestra, conducted by Zviad Bolkvadze, with soloists Iano Alibegashvili, Ketevan Kemoklidze, Otar Jorjikia, and Ramaz Chikviladze. The festival features works by renowned composers including Mahler, Tchaikovsky, Ravel, Beethoven, Mozart, Sulkhan Nasidze, and Zviad Bolkvadze himself. Artistic directors Svimon Jangulashvili and Zviad Bolkvadze lead the Festival Orchestra, the Holy Trinity Cathedral Patriarchal Choir, and the Georgian State Chamber Choir, alongside invited international musicians. Note: Latecomers will be admitted only at the first interval; dress code is mandatory (no shorts); children under 6 allowed only at day performances.
