Misia Zurek Solo Dance Performance
"Clay" is a poetic and sensuous contemporary dance solo performed by Misia Żurek and choreographed by Monika Błaszczak. The piece explores vulnerability, resilience, and eroticism through a choreographic language that engages with space and its many presences, including visible, ghostly, and more-than-human elements. The body and clay symbolize memory and transformation, emphasizing softness, fragility, and the impact of touch and time. This performance celebrates life and our deep material and sensual relationship with the Earth, even amidst crisis and ruins. Set to a soundscape by Antonina Nowacka from the album "Lamunan" and featuring extravagant costume and set design by Marta Szypulska, "Clay" premiered in Venice and marks the first production of Monika Błaszczak's dance company, Monika's Dance World. The event takes place at Movement Theatre on June 15, 2026, with tickets priced at 10.
