PremierePlease Do Not Call Me ‘Grandmother’About the performance:A comedic, warm, and at the same time relevant story about misunderstandings between generations, love, and the complex art of living together — the play “Please Do Not Address Me as ‘Grandmother’” tells the story of Ms. Tina, a widowed librarian in her 70s who is passionately in love with books and has devoted her entire life to reading and caring for them. Petite, delicate, always well-groomed, and slightly eccentric, Tina doesn’t seem to walk — she “floats”; she doesn’t speak — she “sings,” astonishing everyone with her unique inner world. Her life suddenly takes on its greatest challenge — taking care of her grandchildren. Modern teenagers, living in a world of smartphones and social media, meet a woman whose reality is filled with books — and their encounter turns into a true “cultural clash.” Rules, freedom, love, responsibility — everything is called into question. Yet through humor, conflict, and sincere dialogue, the story gradually transforms into a heartfelt tale of mutual understanding. This is a performance about generational differences, the relationship between grandparents and grandchildren, and the idea that sometimes a “grandmother” may turn out to be the most modern person of all.Authors: Maka Kharshiladze, Ketevan KharshiladzeComposer: Davit TavadzeDirectors: Ketevan Kharshiladze, Kakha GabelayaSet Designer: Maia SkhirtladzeVideo Installations: Irakli KhvtisiashviliChoreographer: Davit MetreveliAssistant Director: Tamaz KarauliCast: Ketevan Kitiashvili, Nia Togonidze, Taso Rostomashvili, Damiane NavadzeAge: 10+
