Vivaldi: Ottone in Villa Live
Step into the world of Baroque with Antonio Vivaldi’s first opera, ‘Ottone in Villa,’ brought for the first time to Georgia by the Tbilisi State Chamber Orchestra ‘Georgian Sinfonietta.’ Supported by the Ministry of Culture of Georgia and Tbilisi City Hall, this historic production will take place March 3, 5, 6, and 8 on the atmospheric Small Stage of Rustaveli National Theatre, chosen for its authentic resemblance to the opera’s original Venetian theater. Expect true Baroque flair: all music is performed on period instruments by a dazzling international cast. Lead roles include Maximiliano Danta (Ottone), Paola Valentina Molinari (Cleonila), Tamar Tsirekidze (Caio), Fabiana Visentin (Tullia), and Matteo Straffi (Decio). The show is directed by Ilaria Sainato with Tata Popiashvili as assistant director. Guest musicians—Sergio Azzolini (bassoon), Diego Cantalupi (theorbo, guitar), Gabriele Levi (harpsichord), Giuseppe Falciglia (oboe/flute), Clément Diez (oboe/flute), and Sophie Lamberbourg (cello)—join the Georgian Sinfonietta to create an unforgettable Baroque evening.
