Let’s Understand Each Other At A Glance...

Sat, May 9 · 18:00 IMEDI - CENTRE OF CULTURE

On May 9 at 18:00, we invite you to a special musical evening dedicated to the work of Bulat Okudzhava — a poet, bard, and one of the most sincere and deeply moving voices of the 20th century. Bulat Okudzhava was born in Moscow, but his life and roots are closely connected with Georgia: his father was Georgian, and much of the poet’s childhood and youth were spent in Tbilisi — a city that remained forever in his heart and found reflection in his art. Having lived through the difficult years of family repression, the trials of World War II, and a long path to recognition, Okudzhava became a symbol of an entire generation — the generation of the “Sixtiers,” a time when words and music carried exceptional honesty and depth. His songs are more than just music — they are subtle poetry filled with reflections on life, love, memory, and human dignity. They appeared in iconic films, became the voice of their era, and remain deeply meaningful to audiences today. This evening will feature beloved songs from films, filled with a unique atmosphere of sincerity, warmth, and delicate lyricism. Okudzhava’s music is a conversation from soul to soul, a series of memories that unite generations. Performing on stage will be: Larisa Novoseltseva, Svetlana Novoseltseva, Andrey Kuznetsov, Goga Chkonia, Vakhtang Aroshidze, and other artists. Each of them will bring their own sound to these familiar works while preserving their emotional depth and sincerity. The concert will be performed in Russian. This evening will become a true journey into the world of poetry and music, where every song is a story, every line an echo of the heart, and every performance a living dialogue with the audience. We look forward to welcoming you to share in the living legacy of Bulat Okudzhava and spend this May evening in an atmosphere of music, memory, and inspiration.
