Alfred and Violetta

dom., mar. 8 · 19:00 Gabriadze Theatre

Experience the renewed classic "Alfred and Violetta" at the Gabriadze Marionette Theatre, first premiered in 1981. Inspired by Alexandre Dumas’ novel and Verdi’s “La Traviata,” this fresh production, recreated and greatly expanded by the late Rezo Gabriadze and brought to stage by artistic director Leo Gabriadze, tells the poignant tale of love facing adversity in 1990s Tbilisi and across cities like Milan and Venice. With a runtime of 75 minutes, the play captures the enduring spirit of romance against a backdrop of social upheaval. Strictly for ages 12 and up. Please note: late entry is not permitted once the performance begins. Ticketholders are invited to relax at the theater’s “Ar Idardo” bar from 6:00 p.m., with open access for all after 8:30 p.m. Show dates: February 26 and 27; March 7, 8, 10, 11, 19, 20, 28, 29, 31. Venue: Gabriadze Theatre.
