Xilva – Vision on Stage
‘Vision’ by Lasha Bughadze gives a fresh perspective on Euripides’ ‘Iphigenia at Aulis’. This darkly ironic play, directed by Salome Joglidze, paints a society torn by fear and crisis where reason yields to mysticism. The cast includes Davit Beshitaishvili, Baia Dvalishvili, Salome Maisashvili, Baia Kereselidze, and Luka Japaridze. Scenography is by Ketevan Nadibaidze; music by Ana Zakareishvili. The production escapes the gravity of ancient tragedy, using humor and self-reflection to spotlight how modern society can embrace the unbelievable. Audiences are confronted with uncomfortable truths, confronted as citizens and people, and encouraged to question what they accept and believe. Date: March 23, 20:00 Venue: Theatre On Atoneli Duration: 90 min Supported by the Civil Society Foundation, Tbilisi Department of Culture and Youth, and Dressup.ge.
