Pictures from the Exhibition

Tue, Jun 30 · 00:00 Batumi

Author-led masterclass - "Pictures from the Exhibition".
A practical writing workshop involving visual art.

8 sessions where world painting becomes a working tool for the writer.

Painting can teach. Examples? Hopper teaches how to build a scene with the unspoken. Vermeer slows the gaze to details. Munch shows how to write about a strong feeling without naming it. Frida Kahlo teaches how to place yourself in the text without losing form. Canaletto builds a city in the text so the reader can walk through it...

We do not write about paintings. We write with their help. The artist's tool is paint. Ours is the word.

We translate the energy of artists into texts, use techniques and ideas, reflect and get inspired.

This is not an art history overview; we write literary texts – prose and/or poetry.
