Revival of Navasard — Ancient Armenian New Year
In Armenia, a proposal has been made to revive Navasard, the ancient Armenian New Year, with plans to celebrate it on August 11.
The holiday is intended to serve as a cultural anchor for the Diaspora and domestic tourism, while the day will remain a working day.
Days of Remembrance (Merelots): It is proposed to carefully review the status of the days dedicated to commemorating the deceased, which follow the five main holidays of the Armenian Apostolic Church. In particular, the issue of combining these with non-working days is to be addressed.
Regional Holidays: Similar to Yerevan Day (Erebuni-Yerevan), it is proposed to establish official holidays for the regions of Armenia, taking into account their local and climatic characteristics.
