Film Club at Auditoria: Screening and Discussion of "Persepolis"

Sat, Jun 20 · 19:00 Tbilisi

On June 4, Marjane Satrapi passed away — a French writer, artist, and director of Iranian origin, author of the graphic novels "Persepolis," "Chicken with Plums," and "Survivors." Her works are an important testimony of an era, telling stories of memory, freedom, and growing up.

In the film about Marjane Satrapi, we invite you to watch "Persepolis" — an animated film based on the graphic novel of the same name, which she co-directed with Vincent Paronnaud.

"Persepolis" portrays not only a personal story but also a significant testimony of its time.

After the screening, we will discuss the film together: talking about the historical context, the language of animation, the film's authorial graphics, and why "Persepolis" became one of the main animated films of the 21st century.

Vadim Krivobok, film club enthusiast, promoter of world culture and history (@cinemastepbystep)

The screening will be in Russian.
