Walk through Trinity Suburb to the Island of Tears

Follow Starovilenskaya Street and the courtyards of Trinity Suburb, then cross to the Island of Tears and look back towards the Upper Town across the Svislach. Most of the present quarter was reconstructed in the 1980s to evoke nineteenth-century Minsk, so it is best understood as a careful historical recreation rather than a fully preserved old town.

The route is short and free. Morning and late-afternoon light work best across the river, and the embankment provides an easy continuation towards the Upper Town.
