Spend a day at the Krasny Bereg estate

Музей-усадьба Козелл-Поклевских и мемориал «Детям — жертвам войны»

The Kozell-Poklewski estate resembles a small European castle, but its interiors are the real reason to visit. Rooms use different historic styles, with elaborate parquet, stucco, stained glass and late-nineteenth-century details. After the guided visit, walk through the old English landscape park and look at the estate’s service buildings.

Nearby, the Children—Victims of War memorial uses empty school desks and the figure of a young girl to tell a much heavier story. Treat it as a separate, emotionally demanding part of the trip rather than light entertainment for young children. Allow three to four hours for the palace, park and memorial.

Getting there from Homyel: the simplest car-free option is a direct train to Krasny Bereg, generally about 1 hour 10 minutes. The estate is roughly a 10–15 minute walk from the station. Train gaps can be long, so choose the return service before leaving. Driving is about 100 km and around 1.5 hours each way. Check current museum hours and ticket arrangements before departure.
