Take a trip to the Vilejka Museum of Local Lore
The Vilejka Museum of Local Lore opened its first permanent exhibition in 1985. Its collections cover the archaeology and settlement of the region, traditional life, the development of Vilejka, wars and the lives of district residents. Art by people connected with the area adds another strand, while a separate exhibition hall named after painter Nikodim Silivanovich operates opposite the main building.
The museum is at 8 Svabody Square. Check the schedules of both buildings before travelling, as the permanent display and exhibition hall may keep different hours. Allow about an hour and arrange a guided visit in advance if you want a fuller account.
