Take a trip to the Assumption Church in Novy Svieržań
The foundation of the Assumption Church is associated with Mikołaj Krzysztof Radziwiłł the Orphan and traditionally dated to 1590; its first archival mention is from 1592. A Basilian monastery founded in 1743 later operated here. The compact stone church, tall tower and separate gate bell tower form one of Novy Svieržań's principal historic ensembles.
Begin with the gate and stone wall, then walk around the accessible exterior. This is an active Orthodox parish, so enter only when the doors are open and avoid disrupting services. The nearby Church of St Peter and St Paul makes a natural second stop.
