Visit St Casimir Church
Construction of the new Church of St Casimir began in 1996 after the Catholic parish was revived. This is not a surviving part of the 17th-century Dominican church demolished in 1958, but a modern complex with a separate chapel. In 2021 a tall spire was completed above the 22-metre tower, recalling the silhouette of the town's former church.
View the red-brick facade, tower and chapel from publicly accessible ground, then enter when the doors are open. This is an active parish, so avoid disrupting Mass and do not photograph people without consent. Check service times before visiting.
