Visit the Church of St Michael the Archangel
The Church of St Michael the Archangel was built in Ščučyn in 1865 using brick and fieldstone. Its compact main volume, five-sided apse, entrance bell tower, arched windows and decorative roofline belong to the 19th-century Russian Revival tradition. It remains an active Orthodox church.
View the building from the square and other publicly accessible ground, then enter when the doors are open. Keep quiet during services and do not photograph worshippers without permission. The Church of St Teresa of Ávila stands across the road, making the two buildings an easy single walk.
