Visit the Church of St Michael the Archangel
The masonry church of the Dominican monastery was built around 1724. It was repaired after the major fire of 1751 and consecrated in 1805 in honour of St Michael the Archangel, the patron saint of Navahrudak. The monastery school counted Adam Mickiewicz and Jan Czeczot among its pupils. It remains an active Catholic parish.
Look at the restrained towerless facade and, when the doors are open, the Baroque interior. Keep quiet during Mass, avoid flash and do not photograph people without permission. It is best to confirm times for independent visits beforehand.
