Visit the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross
The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was built between 1906 and 1913 to a design by architect August Klein. Its brick architecture combines Gothic and Romanesque Revival features: a tall spired tower, pointed windows, round openings and substantial side volumes create a distinctive silhouette. It is both a listed architectural monument and an active Catholic church.
Walk around the square-facing exterior to study the tower and different parts of the facade, then enter only when the doors are open. Do not walk around during Mass or photograph people without consent. Ask the parish in advance about service times and a suitable time for a quiet visit.
