Visit St Nicholas Church in Kupiacičy
The surviving wooden Church of St Nicholas was built in Kupiacičy in the late 19th century and belongs to the tradition of Western Polesie wooden church architecture. The sacred history of the site is much older and is linked to the Kupiacičy icon of the Mother of God and a former monastery.
Look closely at the restrained log structure, bell tower and facade details rather than expecting a grand cathedral. This is an active church: enter only when it is open, follow parish rules and do not disturb services. Arrange a tour or conversation in advance if you want to understand the history of the shrine in depth.
