See the Lepel Hydroelectric Plant
The Lepel hydroelectric plant dates from the mid-1950s and entered service in 1958. Generation stopped in the early 1970s, but the plant returned to operation after reconstruction in 2003. Its two original vertical-shaft Francis turbines were retained.
The plant remains an operating industrial facility and is not open for casual tours. View the building and dam only from accessible public ground, stay behind barriers and keep away from the spillway and equipment.
