Visit the Transfiguration Cathedral in Smarhon
Smarhon's historic Transfiguration church was damaged during the First World War and later lost. The present large cathedral was built for the revived parish and consecrated on 6 September 2009; it is a modern church rather than a surviving nineteenth-century monument.
View the symmetrical façade, central dome and twin towers, then enter if the doors are open. This is an active cathedral, so check service times and avoid disrupting worship.
