Visit the Field of Military Glory complex

The Field of Military Glory complex opened in 2006 to commemorate the 1941 fighting on the approaches to Polatsk. It presents the Polatsk Fortified District, part of the pre-war defensive system, and includes restored pillboxes nos. 196 and 117.

Explore the open-air memorial and fortifications, but do not enter locked structures on your own. Before travelling from Polatsk, ask about guided tours and access inside the pillboxes, and prepare for a walk across exposed terrain.
