See the Red Bridge in Polatsk

Красный мост (Полоцк)

The Red Bridge takes its name from fierce fighting between Russian and French forces on 19–21 October 1812. The present reinforced-concrete bridge was built in 1975 on the site of its wooden predecessor, recreating some elements of the earlier design.

Pause by the memorial marker and look along the Palata to connect this small city bridge with the scale of the event. It is a brief historical stop, not a surviving nineteenth-century structure.
