Climb Castle Hill in Mazyr

Castle Hill formed the historic core of Mazyr, but its medieval fortifications have not survived. The present Mazyr Castle complex opened in 2005: it is a modern reconstruction with wooden walls, towers and viewing areas on the site of the old hillfort.

Climb the hill for the panorama, walk around the complex and visit its museum displays. Do not mistake the structures for an authentic medieval castle, and check current opening hours and admission before visiting.
