Two Batumi museums: art and archaeology in half a day
Two museums fit into half a day without awkward transfers. Start at the Adjara Art Museum, 8 Zurab Gorgiladze Street, whose compact collection introduces Georgian painting and sculpture. Then walk 1.5–2 km to Batumi Archaeological Museum at 77 Ilia Chavchavadze Street, focused on finds from Ajara from ancient settlements through the medieval period.
Allow 60–90 minutes for the first museum and another 1–1.5 hours for the second; the walk between them takes 20–30 minutes. The Art Museum is about ten minutes from Europe Square. If archaeology is the stronger interest, reverse the route. The museums may have different closing days and opening hours, so check both schedules rather than only the first stop.
