Rainy Batumi: the Art Museum, Piazza, and old centre

Rainy-day route through central Batumi

Begin indoors at the Adjara Art Museum, 8 Zurab Gorgiladze Street, rather than in an open square. After its Georgian art collection, walk about ten minutes toward Memed Abashidze Street, pass the Astronomical Clock, and continue to Piazza. The exposed sections are short, and the route can finish inside one of the venues around the square.

Allow 60–90 minutes for the museum and 2–3 hours for the full route. Piazza and Europe Square are only 7–10 minutes apart, so the order is easy to adjust as the rain changes. This works for typical Batumi drizzle; during a downpour, central streets can flood quickly, so keep the museum as the only stop and postpone the rest.
