Climb to the Bernardine church above the Neman

The Bernardine complex occupies high ground and is easy to recognise from the Old Bridge. Its architecture preserves several phases, from late Gothic and Renaissance details to a Baroque interior. Approach from Padzamcha, inspect the courtyard and enter outside services; nearby viewpoints open towards the river and old centre.

Entry is free and the church is active. The organ and some areas are available only on set occasions, so do not expect a concert without checking first.
