Walk the Neman from the castles to the Old Bridge

Descend from the castles to the Neman and follow the water towards the Old Bridge. From below, the height of Castle Hill and the steep banks explain why the settlement developed here. Cross the bridge and climb the opposite bank for a wider view back towards the castles and centre.

The walk is free and strongest during the hour before sunset. Lower paths and steps can be slippery after rain, while high water may reduce access along the bank.
