Travel from Minsk to the Khatyn Memorial
Move through Khatyn slowly and in the intended sequence: the former village plan, symbolic chimney-bells, the Cemetery of Villages and the Trees of Life. The memorial is not only about one massacre; it represents the fate of hundreds of Belarusian villages and civilians during the German occupation.
Khatyn is about 55 km from Minsk. Direct public transport is limited, so car, taxi or an organised excursion is practical. The main memorial grounds are free; check khatyn.by for the museum exhibition’s current hours.
