Japanese Kimono as a Painting. The Line of Life on Silk

Sat, Sep 12 · 13:00 Woody Bar

On September 12 at 1:00 PM, Woody Bar will host an art historian Nikolay Dulkin's lecture and showcase on Japanese art and culture.

How does Japanese art express time, age, beauty, nature, and the techniques of silk life? How do images and symbols from painting and graphics transfer onto silk?

The lecture will be illustrated with authentic vintage Japanese kimonos from the @Wow.kimono collection. Women's and men's kimonos for different life periods and occasions will be presented on models.

After the lecture, there will be a pop-up store by @Wow.kimono where you can view, try on, and purchase kimonos and haori.
