Presentation of Mikhail Sukhotin's Poetry Book "Home"
What remains of a place when the place itself no longer exists? Fragments, debris, memories, and words that continue to preserve its memory.
On September 9 at "Auditorium," Mikhail Sukhotin will present the poetry book "Home," published in Tbilisi by Niavi. The book is a collaborative project between the poet, an artist, and the publisher Maria Ovchinnikova.
The poems from recent years are collected in the book like ruins: many consist of textual fragments, preserving the memory of the place and creative space where the text once emerged. For the poet, "Home" is not just a book about a house but a book about the memory of a place and what happens to words when the place disappears.
Mikhail Sukhotin is a poet, literary critic, and translator, one of the representatives of post-conceptualism in Russian poetry. He is the author of numerous poetic and literary-critical works. He has participated in literary and artistic projects since the early 1980s and has worked with the legacy of Vsevolod Nekrasov and the history of Moscow's underground art.
Maria Ovchinnikova is an artist and publisher, founder of the Tbilisi publishing house Niavi, with whom the book "Home" was created.
