Mtatsminda Run Up 2026
The 7th annual Mtatsminda Run Up takes place at the Tbilisi Funicular on October 18, 2026. Runners will tackle a 1,000-meter course featuring 720 steps. The official competition begins at 10:00, with race-bib distribution from 09:00 to 10:00 and the awards ceremony starting at 11:00.
Participants start individually at 10-second intervals, and rankings are based on recorded finish times. Race bibs must remain visible and are non-transferable; athletes without a valid bib, or with a lost, damaged, or transferred bib, may be disqualified. Every participant who reaches the finish line receives a finisher medal.
The top three female and male runners in the overall standings receive certificates and cash prizes. Certificates and 100 GEL sports-store vouchers are also awarded to the winners of the listed age categories, from under 18 through 70+. The youngest and oldest participants receive special certificates.
Registration costs 20 GEL and closes on October 15. Participants under 18 can register free of charge. A warm-up is recommended, and organizers advise people with heart disease or other serious health conditions not to participate. A storage area for personal belongings will be available, but organizers do not accept responsibility for items left there.
