The Sleeping Beauty Ballet at Tbilisi Opera
The Sleeping Beauty is a classical ballet in three acts composed by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, with libretto by Ivan Vsevologsky and Marius Petipa, based on Charles Perrot's tale. The choreography follows Marius Petipa's original work, with staging by Alexey Fadeechev and Nina Ananiashvili. The production features scenography and costumes by Anatoly Nezhny, lighting design by Steen Bjarke, and is performed by the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theatre Orchestra under conductor Levan Jagaev. Artistic direction is by Nina Ananiashvili. Performances are scheduled for October 30, 31, November 1 (matinee), and November 3, 2026, at the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre. Note: Latecomers will be admitted only at the first interval; dress code is mandatory (shorts not allowed); children under 6 are permitted only at day performances.
