Georgia: A Christian State – 1700 Anniversary Concert
In 2026, Georgia marks the 1700th anniversary of declaring Christianity as the state religion. To honor this milestone, a series of classical music concerts are held throughout the year, supported by the Ministry of Culture and Creative Georgia. Artistic directors Svimon Jangulashvili and Zviad Bolkvadze lead performances of works by renowned composers including Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Giuseppe Verdi, Maurice Ravel, Ludwig van Beethoven, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Sulkhan Nasidze, and Zviad Bolkvadze. On September 18, a special concert at the Georgian Philharmonic Orchestra Auditorium features the festival orchestra conducted by Zviad Bolkvadze, performing Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G Major, and Bolkvadze’s Monologue with soloist Andria Bolkvadze. The event celebrates Georgian heritage through classical music in a prestigious venue at 182 Davit Aghmashenebeli Avenue.
