80th Anniversary Concert of Lia Salakaia

On September 24, 2026, the Cultural-Educational Centre “From the Experience of Our Ancestors Towards the Future,” supported by the Ministry of Culture of Georgia and Tbilisi City Hall, presents “A Bridge Built Through Chanting” at the Grand Concert Hall of the Vano Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatoire. This concert honors the 80th anniversary of Lia Salakaia, a renowned chanter and educator awarded the Golden Order of St. George. The event celebrates her legacy and promotes reconciliation and goodwill between Georgian and Abkhaz communities. Performers include Archimandrite Adami (Akhaladze), Archpriest Bidzina (Gunia), Manana (Maka) Chkhaidze, Inga Lobzhanidze, Maia Janjgava, Davit Malazonia, Giorgi Gasviani, and ensembles such as “Satanao,” “Ialoni,” “Margaliti,” “Sakhioba,” the Guram Kurashvili Abkhazian State Choral Cappella, the Samachablo Children’s Choir, and choirs from the Parish School of the Holy Trinity Cathedral.
