Why Draw People
Lecture and book presentation by artist Viktor Melamed.
Viktor Melamed will introduce his new book "Why Draw People" — the first in the "Machinery of Graphics" series, developed in collaboration with Vidim Books. It is simultaneously a sequel, remake, and spin-off of "Machinery."
While "Machinery" focused primarily on technique, "Why Draw People" places portraiture in the context of war, fascism, and the AI revolution. This book is much more personal: Melamed shares how he works on portraits and how algorithms emerge from his own conscious — including childhood — experiences.
Author of the book and lecture — Viktor Melamed, artist.
