Cinema Club at Auditoria: Screening and Discussion of Anime "Barefoot Gen" (Masaki Mori, 1983)
August 6 marks the anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Three days later, on August 9, Nagasaki was also bombed.
In memory of these tragic events, we will watch one of the most powerful anime films in animation history — "Barefoot Gen," based on the autobiographical manga by Keiji Nakazawa, who survived the Hiroshima explosion.
"Barefoot Gen" is not only a historical testimony but also a profound reflection on the cost of war, human resilience, and the ability to maintain humanity even in the face of catastrophe.
After the screening, there will be a discussion of the film with Vadim Krivobok, a popularizer of world culture and history.
