Hiking in the Truso Valley

We are starting the hiking season in this direction. Most of the snow has already melted, and spring is in the valley!

We will hike to the Carbonated Lake with its living ruins, a simple but very atmospheric route (photo from June 15, 2025).

Program:
- We will pass all the bright sights of the military-Georgian road.
- In the valley, after the ascent, you will hide from small waterfalls and see volcanic rock formations.
- Arrive at the Carbonated Lake! The water is very cold, with a high iron content. It is drinkable, tasty, and very refreshing!
- If we have the strength, we will reach Zakagori (a village-fortress). Picturesque and extensive ruins of a citadel on a hill in the upper reaches of the Terek River (14th century).
- Picnic in a picturesque spot (stop at a supermarket when leaving the city).
