Yakut Mystical Drama "Legends of the Eternal Snows"

The Yakut mystical drama "Legends of the Eternal Snows" is a large-scale feature film directed by Alexey Romanov, released in 2024.

The story unfolds in the 18th century in Yakutia, where an older man named Khabyy buys a young Evenki girl, Kiluk, for an elderly prince. During their journey across the snowy expanses, one of the escorts—a young man named Nyukus—falls in love with the girl.

The film has won numerous awards at various festivals (Grand Prix at the "Altyn Minbar", "Kinoshock", "Man and Nature" film festivals, among others) and is highly praised for its deep ethnocultural context and beautiful northern aesthetics.

The film will be presented by Muostakh Delay Kyun, a film critic and researcher of Yakut cinema from the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
