Alfred and Violetta

The Gabriadze Marionette Theatre first made its mark in 1981 with “Alfred and Violetta,” inspired by Dumas’ novel and Verdi’s famed opera. This celebrated play returns in an entirely renewed form, reflecting Rezo Gabriadze’s final artistic vision, completed by artistic director Leo Gabriadze. The production unfolds across Tbilisi’s Mtatsminda district and cities like Milan, Rome, and Venice, placing the enduring love story amid the turmoil of 1990s Tbilisi. The show runs 75 minutes at Gabriadze Theatre. Guests may relax at the “Ar Idardo” bar before the performance (open 18:00 for ticket holders, 20:30 for all). Late arrivals will not be admitted to preserve the unique theatre atmosphere. Age restriction: 12+.
