The Existential Crisis of the Individual
On July 4, the Academy of Thought hosts a lecture titled "The Existential Crisis of the Personality," led by psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Rezo Korintheli alongside Archpriest Theodor Gignadze. The event explores the profound human experience of existential crisis, which arises when individuals contemplate life's meaning, freedom, suffering, faith, and existence itself. The lecture will cover why such crises occur, their causes, and whether they are temporary or ongoing aspects of life. Special focus will be given to Christian viewpoints and depth psychology perspectives. Discussions will address not only the challenges but also the positive aspects of existential crises, highlighting how inner tension and uncertainty can lead to deeper self-awareness, spiritual searching, and understanding life's purpose. The meeting includes a buffet and a relaxed atmosphere, lasting approximately three hours.
