A Jar of Wishes
A Jar of Wishes is a dynamic stage production reimagining Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani’s fable ‘The Beggar and the Jar of Erbo.’ Directed by Giorgi Sultanishvili, with choreography by Nika Nanitashvili, the show incorporates video installations by Irakli Khvtisiashvili, set design by Nino Kitia, and music by Giorgi Sultanishvili. Assistant direction: Khatuna Sadzaglishvili. On stage: Sopho Peradze, Lali Gerkenashvili, Giorgi Jikuridze. Using modern theater, vibrant folk poetry, and traditional Georgian music—on folk instruments and with works by Sulkhan Tsintsadze—the performance is brought to life with energetic dance influenced by Georgian folk traditions. The stage visuals draw inspiration from Niko Pirosmani’s iconic art via video installations. Based on the classic fable’s plot but featuring original folk poetry instead of the source text, the show is recommended for viewers aged 7 and above. Held at the Youth Theatre, March 1, 7, and 8, duration: 50 minutes.
