BASH—Labute's Shocking Drama

Sun, May 17 · 20:00 Marjanishvili Theater

Neil Labute’s groundbreaking piece “BASH” arrives for the first time in Georgia, directed by David Chkhartishvili. Featuring two gripping monologues—“Iphigenia in Orem” and “Medea Redux”—the production unearths extreme confessions of loss, guilt, and vengeance. ‘Iphigenia in Orem’ follows a father’s rationalized tragedy, while ‘Medea Redux’ powerfully portrays a mother's response to betrayal. Vakho Chachanidze and Keti Luarsabishvili give riveting solo performances. The theatre company Gyenos presents its third independent show with the support of Tbilisi City Hall and Marjanishvili Theater. Scenic and sound design by Levan Kvaratskhelia; translation by Nana Samchkuashvili; produced by Tengiz Khukhia. Staged on the Marjanishvili Theater's small stage, the event happens on May 17, 2026, starting at 20:00. Duration: 2 hours, including a 10-minute intermission. Recommended for audiences aged 15 and up.
