To Where We Truly Belong

Wed, May 27 · 20:00 Sokhumi State Drama Theatre

Experience a compelling play at the Sokhumi State Drama Theatre, where the story unfolds within a family: an Abkhazian father, a Georgian mother, and a teenage son lost in emotional turmoil. A colorful cast—a tenant, a Russian-speaking priest, and an Abkhazian doctor educated in Tbilisi—bring rich perspectives, challenging each other against the background of Abkhazia’s dramatic separation from Georgia. As the family navigates their differing identities and struggles to connect, the play opens a dialogue on belonging, generational divides, and the weight of history. Directed by Merab Kolbaia, with set design by Nino Kutelia and assistant director Svetlana Gogokhia. Cast includes Nika Chkadua, Edemi Khvichia, Marina Solomonia, Julieta Pakeliani, Laliko Gerkenashvili, Levan Lezhava, Davit Beradze, and Merab Kolbaia. Show runs for 1 hour 40 minutes. Age restriction: 10+.
