At Iliauni Theatre, Darispan’s Misfortune delivers a tragicomic story of a Georgian nobleman’s determined search for a future son-in-law for his daughter Karozhna. This poignant play, rich with humor and affection for Georgia, explores family fate and a nation's resilience. Audiences are prompted to weigh freedom against comfort—a dilemma mirrored both in the family’s journey and the country’s history. Directed by Saba Aslamazishvili, with stage design by Mariam Kalatozishvili and costumes by Sandro Margvelashvili. Music is arranged by Nino Sikharulidze. Cast: Slava Natenadze (Darispan), Lili Khuriti (Martha), Maia Khornauli (Pelagia), Nina Kipshidze (Natalia), Mashiko Tvalabeishvili (Karozhna), Tornike Kakulia (Osiko). Supported by Tbilisi Municipality, the performance lasts 70 minutes without intermission. Premiere: May 22 at Iliauni Theatre.
