The Days of the Turbins
Mikhail Bulgakov's famous play "The Days of the Turbins," takes the audience to the winter of 1918-1919. The chaos of the revolution is trying to engulf the intimate world of the Turbins family. The play focuses on the contrast between the devastating era outside and the cozy, harmonious world of the Turbins home, where love, friendship, and intelligence are preserved. All roles in the production are played by graduating students of GITIS, lending the play a youthful energy. The focus is on questions of honor, loyalty to duty, fear, and the search for meaning in life at a turning point in history. The play emphasizes the theme of the passing of the old world and the value of human warmth in the face of catastrophe.Duration – 2 hours 45 minutes (with an intermission)
