Romeo and Juliet Ballet
Experience the timeless love story in Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet," choreographed by Mikhail Lavrovsky and inspired by Shakespeare. Held at Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre from May 5 to 10, this two-act ballet features conductor Alevtina Ioffe, set designer David Monavardisashvili, costume designer Vyacheslav Okunev, lighting designer John B. Read, and leading coach Alexey Fadeechev with assistant Ekaterine Shavliashvili. Directed by Leonid Lavrovsky-Garcia and artistically led by Nina Ananiashvili. The premiere took place in Tbilisi in 2006, with its latest version introduced in 2018. Performed by the State Theatre Orchestra, conducted by Levan Jagaev. Latecomers admitted only after the first interval. Dress code strictly enforced—shorts not permitted. Children under 6 years are welcomed at the daytime performance (May 10, 15:00) only.
