Alfred and Violetta
Alfred and Violetta, the show that launched the Gabriadze Marionette Theatre in 1981, returns in a bold new production. Inspired by Dumas’ classic novel and Verdi’s opera, this legendary love story is set anew in 1990s Tbilisi—along with scenes in Milan, Khashuri, Rome, Venice, Abastumani, and Dighomi—amid the era’s real-life turmoil. The late Rezo Gabriadze thoroughly reimagined the play in his final year, with stage direction by Leo Gabriadze, the theatre’s artistic director. Enjoy this unforgettable experience at the Gabriadze Theatre, running March 28 to April 15 at various times. Performance length: 75 minutes. Before the show, relax at the 'Ar Idardo' theatre bar, open to ticket holders from 18:00. Strictly ages 12 and up. Please be punctual; late arrivals are not allowed after the show starts. Dive into a world of puppetry and passionate storytelling in Tbilisi’s most iconic theatre.
